Anna Alvarez's Bio
Anna A. Alvarez, an MFA in Fine Arts Fashion Merchandising & Marketing program graduate at the Academy of Art University for Design, has honed her skills as a patternmaker, CAD designer, sweater designer, and technical designer for multiple brands over a decade as a designer to mass market, to a technical designer overseeing four divisions and responsible for quality control of five brands. Anna specialized in knitwear, working with international factories to achieve higher construction standards for a family-owned fashion brand. Anna was a recipient of the Fashion Scholarship Fund (FSF) in 2012 and has been a mentor and judge since 2017. Her belief in the art/mathematics of apparel has led her to share her expertise with students and professionals alike.
